Katy Perry to Play Super Bowl Halftime Show

Katy Perry

Katy Perry will perform at the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show, sources confirm.

The pop star recently appeared on ESPN’s “College Gameday,” successfully picking Ole Miss to upset Alabama.

In the interview, she also said she’s “not the kind of girl to pay to play the Super Bowl.” The NFL reportedly asked Perry, Coldplay and Rihanna if they would be willing to pay to play the colossal ratings event but were given the cold shoulder.

The 2015 Super Bowl, held in Glendale, Arizona, will air Feb. 1 on NBC.

Last year’s Super Bowl between the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos was the most-watched TV event ever, drawing a staggering 111 million viewers.

Oh great, another appearance by The Illuminati Princess, her one octave range, and her boobs.

  2. JC Corona says:

I have nothing disparaging to say about Miss Perry, but the NFL blew it! They needed to get AC/DC to perform. After all they have a new CD coming out in Dec. and an impending tour (perfect timing). They are the ultimate hard rock band who’s rock anthems are known to everyone because they are played throughout the stadiums every week (The ubiquitous Hells Bells and Thunderstruck)! RocknRoll Train from their last cd was played to introduce the games on one network for the whole season. And if the NFL wants a worldwide audience Angus and the boys had the No1 tour worldwide a few years back according to billboard. Like the title: of their new cd: ROCK or BUST! NFL went Bust on this decision.

  3. dunstan says:

Just another reason not to watch the halftime show.

  4. craig says:

LMFAO … that means her career is OVER. c ya. bye. adios. ta ta. getthefuk out!

  5. SSMcDonald says:

Who is Katy Perry?. More important, who cares? You “planners” for the Super Bowl would be well advised to schedule the Marine Corps Drum & Bugle Corps for a half time show and get rid these irrelevant so-called entertainers. And at the same time acquire someone who does NOT butcher our National Anthem!

  6. Granted says:

Headline says she’s playing but quote infers she is not. What the H?

    • Maxwell says:

That was a previous quote about not paying, So she’s either lying and she did pay to play, or the NFL dropped the request for payment.

Still, I don’t see how the kiddie crowd would appeal to NFL fans, the NFL needs to reward fans, not torture them.

  7. yilley says:

How nice that Katy is taking a respite from fundraising w Obama.

  8. Now that’s a wardrobe malfunction I’d like to see

  9. Saw her recent performance – and it was profane. She is a vulgar, vapid, nothing of a performer who’s career is on the down slope. Shame on the NFL for having this harlot on during a family event.

  10. Paul says:

I like the extended superbowl half time shows. It gives me more time to prepare my second half eats, treats, and drinks. Who the heck is Katy Perry?

  11. Most watched TV event ever is the most misleading claim I’ve ever heard. I’m sure I don’t have to explain this to you. There was a time the whole country was dialed into certain events, but now there are millions more sets across the country, and sporting events are on the myriad tubes in bars and restaurants – making millions more than there are even households. Let’s have a media consensus to stop reporting meaningless figures of Super Bowl viewers. I swear, man, every damn year. I don’t even know who won – nor could 6 out of 10 Americans AT LEAST. Most watched event ever, my ass.

    • Another Poster says:

Almost Every American is aware who won the last Super Bowl last February, because it was practically over with the very first play when Seattle scored against Denver. Within minutes they got a touchdown, then an interception, then another touchdown. More like 7 out of 10, if not 8 out of 10 is aware Seattle crushed Denver in one of the most lopsided games ever held. It might not have been the most watched TV program, but, the average American does know who won the Super Bowl.
I hope Katy Perry did not give any money to play at the Super Bowl. Considering how popular she is right now, she does not have to pay those greedy Non-profit money hungry pigs a cent.

  12. Timmer says:

I can”t stand Katy Perry’s “music”, it’s garbage pure and simple, Other than her cute face and large breasts she has nothing, I repeat, nothing to offer. The NFL has lost it’s way.

  13. boobies says:

Here’s to hoping for another wardrobe malfunction.

  14. MarkinTX says:

Katy who? You’d think they’d get somebody famous…

  15. I can only pray for a wardrobe malfunction……..

  16. nfl wifebeater says:

Katy Perry: another dissatisfied millionaire who votes for communist liberals.

    • Michael Anthony says:

  17. KJ says:

    The demise of America

  18. KJ says:

    Yuck and blawwwwwwwww

  19. Kay says:

Thank goodness for the Puppy Bowl. Another year I won’t be watching the halftime show.
