CBS To Launch New Courtshow From Judge Judy In Fall

Judge Judy

'Hot Bench' cleared for syndie debut in more than 75% of country

Judge Judy will be bringing daytime viewers back to the bench in the fall, this time with a new show.

Hot Bench,” from CBS TV Distribution, has been sold in 75% of the country, including stations in the CBS TV Stations, Tribune Broadcasting Company, Sinclair Broadcast Group, among others. Syndie court strip will air mostly in afternoon and early-fringe timeslots.

Created by Sheindlin, “Hot Bench” features a panel of three judges hearing court cases, arguing the merits of the case amongst themselves, and rendering a verdict.

“When my husband Jerry and I were in Ireland recently, we visited the courts and watched a three judge bench, which I found both fascinating and compelling,” Sheindlin said. “I immediately thought what a terrific and unique idea for a television program that brings the court genre to the next level. We have assembled three individuals with extremely varied backgrounds to serve as the judges. They are smart and talented, with terrific instincts and great chemistry, and are sure to create a ‘hot bench.’ ”

“Hot Bench” is exec produced by Randy Douthit, and produced by CTD, the company behind Sheindlin’s syndie hit “Judge Judy.”

  2. Helga bibby says:

I’ve got to say hot bench is a load of crap. And I know I’m not the only one. 3 judges to one person it’s wrong. The only two people giving a judgment very wrong. Doesn’t matter it it’s 2 to one. You know dam well the judge who agrees is agreaing to not get shit. The whole program is wrong. As I said 3 judgys not right

  3. Joan Woods says:

Why are there so few new episodes of Judge Judy in 2015 (fall). They were all supposed to be new and they mostly running other 2015 reruns. That really strinks! Say goodbye, Judy Judy.

  4. Leesa says:

I love the Judge and her straight to the point attitude she hits the nail on the head each and every time. Can’t wait for the new show!

  5. Barb says:

This show will stink and sounds boring. They needed a judge with more of a personality. Did she bully to get what’s she wants whether it was good or not. Failure

  6. Alison Loy says:

Judy with network, is paid to knowingly and intentionally perpetuate false images of disabled people, and cause them a loss of income, even though they paid to be covered under this insurance to guard against being ill enough to loose ones income for duration of time. Judy causes the prejudice of disabled citizens to magnify across our land and set us back to the 14 century. One can tell she’d like to stone the disabled, once she gets our culture to accept it again. Aren’t there enough people dying on the streets?

    • Neet says:

@Allison, who cares if you watch or not. Ya sound like a loony who has nothing better to do blather on about nothing. Go get some counseling because you sound mentally unbalanced.

  7. Alison Loy says:

I’d go as far to say, that Judge Judy and her supporting network should be charged with slander, intentionally attempting to mislead viewers falsely into believing that disability benefits was welfare, but knowing full well people paid their premiums to have benefits in case they couldn’t work due to an extended illness insurance. Plus made it look U.S. SSD judges were incompetent with leinancy when the fact is they are very hard and only look toward undisputable evidence.

  8. Alison Loy says:

I will not watch. I have seen enough of her making mockery of our court judges. She portrays them as elitists out of touch with own country men. Once again, the other day, Judge Judy took it upon herself and network to make a public mockery in another judge’s case ruling on SSD without having access to any of the evidence and eventhough SSD judge’s are certainly highly trained in the laws and fully competent to rule on these cases put before them.

  9. ThomT says:

Wow, who would have thought TV had a shortage of reality court shows? “Judge Judy”, it’s not good law but it’s sure good TV.
