Jimmy Kimmel Takes Subway Emmys

Latenight host and Emmy nominee Jimmy Kimmel is forgoing the traditional drop-off for the Emmy red carpet this year. Kimmel posted a photo of himself and his wife Molly McNearney stepping through the turnstiles at Hollywood and Highland to take the Los Angeles Metro Red Line subway on their way to the Nokia Theatre.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” is nominated for outstanding variety series.

Bizzers came up with various methods for avoiding the weekday rush hour traffic — and making a statement at the same time. “Mad Men” writer, producer and bicycle activist Tom Smuts made the 17-mile trip from West L.A. by bicycle with a group of 15 riders.

Meanwhile, numerous attendees including “Modern Family” star Sarah Hyland tried Uber as an alternative to long valet parking waits.

The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by Seth Meyers air at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC.
