iZombie,” Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero’s zombie crime fighter pilot, has found another warm body.

“One Tree Hill’s” Robert Buckley will play Major, the former fiance of med student-turned-zombie Liv who is helping his friend transition into her new life of working in a coroner’s office and solving homicides. A former college football player who is now an environmental engineer, Major is described as “perfect in an awe-inspiring, non-annoying way.” Naturally, he still harbors romantic feelings for his heroine.

Buckley joins cast members David Anders, Malcolm J. Goodwin and Alexandra Krosney in the one-hour drama that’s executive produced by scribes Thomas and Ruggiero (“Veronica Mars”), as well as Dan Etheridge and Danielle Stokdyk, for Warner Bros. TV. Thomas is also helming the pilot.

Show is based on the characters created by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred for DC Comics’ Vertigo imprint.

The part of titular zombie Liv has not been cast.

Buckley is repped by WME, Interlink Management and BWR Public Relations.
