Ignatiew, Pabst to Lead Red Arrow International

Pair replace Jens Richter, who leaves to head FremantleMedia Intl.

LONDON — Irina Ignatiew and Henrik Pabst have been promoted to managing director of TV distribution company Red Arrow International.

The pair replace Jens Richter, who is leaving to head FremantleMedia Intl. Ignatiew and Pabst will take individual responsibility for global scripted distribution and global format/factual distribution, respectively.

The promotions take effect immediately and both will report directly to Jan Frouman, group managing director of Red Arrow Entertainment Group.

“It’s never easy to say goodbye to an executive as capable and accomplished as Jens Richter. He built Red Arrow International and has been with Red Arrow Entertainment Group from the start. But, to his credit, he also assembled a stellar team and enabled us to find his successors from within,” Frouman said.

“Irina and Henrik are outstanding and experienced distribution professionals. Under their future leadership, the company will continue to grow and thrive.”

Before joining Red Arrow International in early 2012 and rising to the role of deputy MD, Ignatiew worked as executive VP International at Telepool, as head of international distribution at Tandem Communications and as sales manager for Lionsgate.

Prior to joining Red Arrow in 2011 and moving up to deputy MD, Pabst worked at IMG Media, where he was VP of entertainment and business development for the German, Austrian, Swiss and Benelux markets. His primary responsibilities included format development and distribution of entertainment programs. In addition, Pabst looked after key clients such as Red Bull and Bwin.

Red Arrow International is a leading global content distributor with an extensive catalog of scripted projects, factual entertainment titles, formats and digital/second screen applications. The company manages distribution for Red Arrow Entertainment Group and a wide array of global third-party producers. Via offices in Munich, Los Angeles and Hong Kong, Red Arrow International sells content to more than 150 territories.

Red Arrow International has expertise in packaging, co-financing and co-producing international scripted projects, such as Netflix’s first original drama “Lilyhammer” and “Jo,” starring Jean Reno. The company also boasts a strong track record in building format franchises such as “Benidorm Bastards,” with 25 local versions including NBC’s “Betty White’s Off Their Rockers,” and ABC’s “The Taste.”

Red Arrow International is part of Red Arrow Entertainment Group, incorporating 14 TV production companies spanning across nine countries. Red Arrow Entertainment Group is owned by ProSiebenSat.1 Group, one of the leading media companies in German-speaking Europe.
