‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’ Future in Doubt Following TMZ Report

here comes Honey Boo Boo

TLC is “reassessing” the future of reality hit “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” following a TMZ report alleging that the mother of the girl at the center of the show is romantically linked to a convicted child molester.

In a statement, TLC said: “TLC is not currently in production on ‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.’ We are very concerned about this new information and are reassessing the future of the series.”

June Shannon, mother of former child beauty pageant contender Alana Thompson who is at the center of the show, is alleged to be dating a man convicted of child molestation involving a relative of Shannon’s who was 8 years old at the time of the incident. The man was recently released from prison and is a registered sex offender in Georgia, according to TMZ.

“Honey Boo Boo’s” most recent episodes aired on TLC in August. There’s been no official word from the Discovery Communications cabler on a fifth season for the show, although Thompson posted on the “Honey Boo Boo” Facebook page in September that new episodes were slated to air in January.

“Honey Boo Boo” revolves around the lives of Thompson, Shannon (aka Mama June) and others in their hometown in rural Georgia.

  1. magdalene sylvester says:

    hi, can I apply for a show with T L C.

  2. well they were bound to have some skeletons in there closets.but who doesn’t???

    • Katprint says:

None of my skeletons involve 1) dating a child molester who 2) molested one body relatives 3) while I have young children of similar ages to his prior victim.

  3. “was” or “is” is irrelevant…the idea that this woman would date a man who was convicted of molesting HER OWN RELATIVE is just about as stupid as the show they are highlighted in, which one can see why the man left…it’s a ridiculous show and you can almost smell the condition of the house and their sweaty selves…yuk.

  4. A bit risky with kids still living with her

  5. melissa says:

Well than they better be taking off alot of shows. If there going on what someone has done. Everyone makes mistakes and everyone has skeletons in there closets.

  6. David says:

  7. jhs39 says:

  8. Was or is dating ?, If was that should not matter ,But is makes a world of differents

  9. PETER JAY says:

  10. Veronica says:

Pure mean gossip / why not ask Ms Thompson & post the interview!!!!!

  11. Ladonna says:

I have no issues with the show itself, however, I enjoyed seeing a man like Sugar Bear who so obviously loved the girls and his wife with all his heart. If this woman IS seeing a convicted child molester, she DESERVES to have all of her contact (including her own daughters and grandchild) cut off..this makes me sick to my stomach..

  12. dunstan says:

You mean another reality show “star” is a social mutant with no common sense or values?

I’m shocked. Shocked, I tell you.

Warning to the sick morons who keep shoving this kind of crap down the throats of the American public: very soon, pay TV will become a la carte and all of these wasteland channels and shows will be left for the roadkill they are.

I couldn’t have said it better myself. I honestly don’t know how these garbage shows even get approved to air in the first place.
