Fox's new series "Gotham" stars Ben

Fox is betting big on “Gotham,” having promoted three of the pilot’s guest stars to series regulars, Variety has confirmed.

Cory Michael Smith, Victoria Cartagena and Andrew Stewart Jones will all have ongoing roles in the Batman prequel series, which will kick off Fox’s Monday night schedule in the fall at 8 p.m., followed by “Sleepy Hollow,” another high-concept genre series.

Smith plays Edward Nygma, Gotham City Police Department’s resident forensics expert — best known to DC Comics fans as the Riddler. Cartagena plays Renee Montoya, a detective in GCPD’s major crimes unit, while Jones portrays Crispus Allen, Montoya’s partner on the squad.

The hourlong series stars Ben McKenzie as a young Jim Gordon and co-stars Donal Logue, Jada Pinkett Smith, David Mazouz and Camren Bicondova.

Fox picked up “Gotham” for at least 13 episodes in its first season, and the series is slated to premiere this fall.
