‘Girls’ Season Finale Ratings Up from Last Year

The season three finale for Lena Dunham’s “Girls” delivered 1 million viewers across its three plays on Sunday, with the 10 p.m. airing up 6-percent from its season two finale.

The HBO show had an average gross audience of 4.6 million viewers for the season.

Last year, the initial 10 p.m. airing of “Girls” last year averaged 632,000 viewers.

A fourth season of “Girls” was announced at TCA. It will begin filming in 2015.

HBO’s other awards darlings, “Veep” and “Game of Thrones” return April 6,  the same night that new show “Silicon Valley” premieres.

    I thought this series was putrid up until the last 2 or 3 shows.

    So the Million viewers were over 3 million under the average 4 plus million?

    Does this say that cumulative audience was 4.6 million for the season with multiple duplications counted?
