Fox Intl. Channels Handle Sales of

Fox International Channels is moving deeper into the content sales business with a pact to handle all international TV and home entertainment rights for the Fox series “Wayward Pines.”

The M. Night Shyamalan-produced thriller stars Matt Dillon, Melissa Leo, Toby Jones, Terrence Howard and Juliette Lewis. Series is set for a global bow during the 2014-15 season on Fox and across FIC channels in more than 100 worldwide territories.

FIC has been expanding its operations to take advantage of the reach it has through more than 300 Fox- and National Geographic-branded channels. The division will spearhead sales of “Wayward Pines” in markets where the series is not airing on an FIC channel, as well as ancillary home entertainment rights.

FIC’s growth has allowed Fox and FX to mount global launches of such series as “American Horror Story,” “The Bridge,” “Touch” and “Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey.”

“This series has all the makings of an international hit—a spectacular, world-renowned cast, thrills crafted by suspenseful storyteller M. Night Shyamalan, and a global Fox launch platform reaching more than 350 million viewers,” said FIC prexy Hernan Lopez. “We are also excited by the early interest the show is generating with potential buyers, and confident that these partnerships will amplify the scale and impact the series will have around the world.”

“Wayward Pines,” which has a 10-episode limited-series order, was written by Chad Hodge and exec produced for FX Prods. by Shyamalan, Hodge, Donald De Line and Ashwin Rajan.
