Evander Holyfield Makes Anti-Gay Remarks on U.K. ‘Big Brother’

Former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield has entered the ring on the hot topic of homosexuality in the media, saying gay individuals were “handicapped” on a recent episode of U.K.’s “Celebrity Big Brother.”

When asked if there are any gay boxers, the former athlete responded “yes.”

“You know how handicapped people are born,” he said, before telling one of his fellow “Big Brother” contestants the lifestyle was “a choice.”

Holyfield’s remarks were immediately denounced by his “Big Brother” housemates, including ex-pop star Boy George.

When asked to explain his remarks on the hit TV show, Holyfried said he didn’t think anyone else was listening.
