Pact involves new series "Matador" and "From Dusk Till Dawn"

Independent studio Entertainment One and new cable outlet El Rey Network have closed an exclusive worldwide television distribution agreement under which Entertainment One, also known as eOne, will handle the network’s growing slate of original scripted programming.

The first project under the new pact is the upcoming series, “Matador,” a scripted thriller from K/O Paper Products’ and its writing/producing team, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. The hour-long drama, scheduled to debut this summer, explores the unlikely rise of Antonio “Matador” Bravo, a popular playboy and soccer star, who  is really a covert operative  for a little-known branch of the CIA. Entertainment One will also handle DVD and EST rights for the new El Rey series, “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series.”

The El Rey pact follows a September 2013 partnership struck between eOne and AMC Networks to distribute AMC and Sundance Channel original scripted series internationally.
