E! has extended through 2016 the overall deal for one of its most popular television personalities, Giuliana Rancic. Cyndi McClellan, president, network strategy & E! News, made the announcement Wednesday.

Under the deal, Rancic will remain anchor and managing editor of “E! New,” the net’s daily news broadcast, as well as continue in her various roles across the cabler, including covering big events as a part of “Live From the Red Carpet.” Rancic also co-hosts “Fashion Police” alongside Joan Rivers, Kelly Osbourne and George Kotsiopoulos and is the center of reality show “Giuliana & Bill,” which follows her, husband Bill Rancic and their baby Duke.

“Giuliana has been an important part of the E! family for twelve years now, and we are thrilled to extend her overall deal with the network,” said McClellan in a statement. “Giuliana brings not only a wealth of experience to the air, but also a fun, relatable and candid energy that makes her a fan favorite amongst E! viewers and incredibly popular across the entertainment community.”

Two other television personalities for the network, Ryan Seacrest and Chelsea Handler, will also see their contracts expire this year. Handler has been open about the fact that she’s exploring options outside of E!, and Variety reported in April that Seacrest is in talks at Fox and NBCUniversal.

Rancic started at E! in 2002 as an “E! News” correspondent and became anchor and managing editor for the show in 2005.

It is because of decisions like this that I am no longer an E! viewer. “wealth of experience to the air, but also a fun, relatable and candid energy…” The preceding excerpt actually sums up the reasons that I just can’t watch any shows she has a role in. Well actually, the idea that she appears to be the complete opposite of the person described by an E! exec is why I just can’t watch shows that she has a role in.

I feel like the correspondence, content, and coverage by most of E!’s hosts shows their lack of true experience, interest, energy, knowledge, and passion for the industries that they cover.

In this day and age, with all the bad hosts on entertainment shows on TV, it seems like the truly, modern over-thirty crowd will just have to get its entertainment and fashion fix from some of the new and more progressive online venues.

By the way, Rancic has exhibited fortitude and chutzpah in her personal/not-so-personal life and for that, she definitely gets my respect as a woman.

I don’t know why they even show her in the credits of Fashion Police, she’s hardly ever on it. Must be nice to get paid for rarely having to actually show up.
