“Doctor Who’s” Karen Gillan will star in “Selfie,” a pilot from “Suburgatory” creator/executive producer Emily Kapnek about a self-obsessed 20-something who enlists the help of a marketing expert after an embarrassing video goes viral.

Inspired by “My Fair Lady” — Gillan’s character is named Eliza Dooley — the half-hour single camera comedy is produced by Kapnek’s Piece of Pie Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television for ABC.

A native of Scotland, Gillan is repped by UTA and Troika Talent Agency in the UK. She also appeared in Adult Swim’s “NTSF:SD:SUV” and has roles in the upcoming films “Oculus” and “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

ABC’s other comedy pilot orders this season include director Declan Lowney and “Awkward” creator Lauren Iungerich’s “Damaged Goods” and “Fresh Off the Boat,” which is based on chef Eddie Huang’s memoir and comes from “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23’s” Nahnatchka Khan with Jake Kasdan and Melvin Mar. Not sure how they are going to keep the premise going as a TV series but if Gillan is involved I’m in.
