Dick Wolf Sells Reality Series to A&E (EXCLUSIVE)

“Law & Order” executive producer Dick Wolf is continuing his foray in the unscripted business.

A&E has greenlit “D.O.A.” (working title), an eight-episode non-fiction series which will follow an elite team of detectives who will re-investigate controversial murder cases.

The team includes Chicago homicide police officer Michelle Wood; Miami detective Joe Schillaci, a 30-year veteran; and Kevin “Spider” Gannon, a retired NYPD detective.

The trio approach each case with no prior knowledge of the crime or the verdict, reworking the crime scene from the beginning and interviewing witnesses and forensic specialists.

The question is whether or not they ultimately agree with the original verdict.

A&E has long been an innovator in crime and justice programming,” said David McKillop, exec VP and g.m., A&E Network. “We are looking to expand on our industry leading position by partnering with the master of the genre, Dick Wolf, on such a fascinating and unique new series.”

“D.O.A.” is produced by Wolf Reality and Left/Right for A&E Network. Executive producers for Wolf Reality are Dick Wolf and Tom Thayer.  Executive producers for Left/Right are Ken Druckerman and Banks Tarver. Executive producers for A&E Network are Laura Fleury and Brad Holcman.
