The Daytime Emmy Awards have settled on a date and a location — now all they need is a TV deal.

The 41st ceremony will be held June 22 at the Beverly Hilton. The date had been in flux as the New York-based National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences shops for a new TV deal for the ceremony.

The kudocast had been carried by news cabler HLN for the past two years. Negotiations for this year’s ceremony are going down to the wire but NATAS indicated confidence that a deal will be reached.

The Daytime Emmys have struggled to maintain a TV home amid low ratings for the kudocast and broader changes in the daytime viewing landscape.

The Creative Arts portion of the Daytime Emmys will be handed out June 20 at downtown L.A.’s Bonaventure Hotel.

Which television station will broadcast the 2014 Daytime Awards?

  2. Sylvia Gillis says:

No Michael Muhney, No interest in the Daytime Emmys

  3. I wish that the Daytime Emmys would go back to their roots and give us fabulous shows like in the past.
The soapy montages were the best. Recently you guys suggested that having the focus of the Daytime Emmy Awards Show be on the soap genre is the reason for audience apathy. This is not true!!
How many friends/family have ever told you that they were tuning in to see if Sesame Street or the Today Show wins? NONE! The last few years it has become increasinly harder to find out where they are going to be aired, and when you did find it it was more of a commercial than an awards show!
Again, PLEASE take it back to it’s glory days and make it about the soaps!! The soapier the better!!
Thank you for your time and consideration.

I sure hope the show is not on HLN again. Last year’s show was horrible. The show needs to focus on the soaps. That’s your audience.
