A hugely popular educational Facebook page is hitting TV — with the help of Craig Ferguson.

Science Channel has greenlit “I F-ing Love Science” based on the Facebook page of the same name that has garnered more than 10 million likes. The CBS latenight host will produce, and made the announcement via video Saturday at South by Southwest in Austin.

“If you know anything about me, you know I love science,” Ferguson said. “Science has a naughty secret — it’s that all things are connected. And this show is going to explore the randomness of science. Think of it as a late night Google search that goes a hundred pages deep until things get weird — and then you just keep going. And there is no better partner for this kind of smart entertainment like Science Channel and Elise.”

The Elise Ferguson is referring to is Elise Andrews, the British biology student who created the Facebook page in March 2012. The page features science-related photos, news and cartoons, often with a comedic twist.

The show will consist of 60-minute episodes with live action, animation and reenactments. Each episode will attempt to prove “a grand, outlandish thesis” using science.

“I F-ing Love Science” is set to premiere on Science Channel in the fourth quarter of this year.
