Asked whether he thought the show had a chance to live on, Harmon, while making the rounds Wednesday night at Adult Swim’s upfront party at Terminal 5 in New York, gave a shrug and noted that any such move will require a lot of time “talking to people about contracts and stuff.”
At present Harmon said he’s putting his energy into producing the second season of his Adult Swim animated series “Rick and Morty,” which he created with Justin Roiland. Harmon is also part of the voice cast for the series about the adventures of a mad scientist and his grandson. “Rick and Morty” bowed on Adult Swim in December and was renewed in February.
Beyond that, Harmon said he’s in the midst of deciding whether he will focus on movie or TV projects in the near term.
Harmon didn’t express any bitterness about NBC’s decision to ax “Community” after five seasons. He said he remains open to trying another primetime series, despite the rocky road traveled on “Community.”
