Julianna Goldman, a Washington, D.C. -based journalist who has worked for Bloomberg’s television operations since 2003, will join CBS News’ bureau in the nation’s capital in August.

She worked as a White House correspondent for Bloomberg News and Bloomberg Television, and was also a weekly panelist on “Political Capital With Al Hunt.”

She has moved up through a variety of roles at Bloomberg in New York and Washington. Last year, National Journal named her one of the 25 most influential Washington women under 35. She grew up in Bethesda, Md., and graduated magna cum laude from Barnard College/Columbia University with a bachelor of arts degree in political science.

Goldman has covered President Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns, summit meetings around the world, Obama’s first trip to China, and his first visit to Israel as president. Additionally, she conducted Obama’s first one-on-one interview after his re-election in 2012, one of three interviews she has done with the president. She covered the White House on the night Osama bin Laden was killed and traveled on Air Force One to Afghanistan one year after that strike.
