John Boyega, star of 2011 British monster movie “Attack the Block,” is set to join Fox’s event series “24: Live Another Day” in a recurring arc.

The show premieres May 5 and is the next chapter in the “24” franchise, from 20th TV, Imagine TV and Teakwood Lane. It picks up the story four years after the series finale, which left Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) as a fugitive, this time in London.

Boyega will play a computer tech who flies drones for the military. Casting is starting to gear up on the show as Stephen Fry was recently tapped to play the British Prime Minister.

Boyega has a busy slate ahead of him, having just landed the role of Jesse Owens in the biopic “Race.” His film “Imperial Dreams” which won the audience award for best film from a newcomer also during the Sundance Film Festival’s award gala Saturday night.

Boyega is represented by CAA, IAG, and Management 360.
