ABC O&Os Pick Up Tyra Banks'

ABC’s O&O group has cleared the Tyra Banks-hosted syndicated talkshow “The F-A-B” for  a fall 2015 launch.

The deal gives the Disney-distributed strip a home in eight major markets, including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Banks will anchor a roundtable of lifestyle mavens. Banks co-hosts are now set: former model turned foodie Chrissy Teigen, fashion guru Joe Zee, interior designer Lauren Makk, and do-it-yourself YouTube personality Leah Ashley.

“The F-A-B” (which stands for “Fun and Beautiful”) hits the syndie market on the heels of Warner Bros.’ seeing some traction with its newly launch syndie yakker “The Real,” which targets young urban multicultural women with a diverse panel of five hosts anchored by comedian Loni Love.

“Tyra and her panel of lifestyle experts share a chemistry that is energetic and extremely entertaining,” said Rebecca Campbell, prexy of ABC Owned Station Group. All told, the deal with the ABC stations gives the show clearance in 23% of U.S. TV households.

Banks has experience in the daytime talkshow biz, having hosted a syndie yakker for Warner Bros. for five seasons. She is also the longtime host and exec producer of “America’s Next Top Model,” a staple of UPN and the CW since 2003. She is an exec producer of “The F-A-B.”
