Cheryl Cole to Return to ‘The X Factor’ in the U.K.

Cheryl Cole Return 'The X Factor'

Singer to join show's creator Simon Cowell on judging panel

LONDON — Singer Cheryl Cole has inked a deal to return as a judge on “The X Factor” in the U.K. for a reported £1.5 million ($2.5 million).

Cole quit the judging panel of the U.K. show in 2011 to join the U.S. version of the show, but was ejected from the Stateside version following claims that Americans could not understand her accent (she comes from North-East England).

The show’s creator, Simon Cowell, will also return to the British version of “The X Factor” after a four-year break, during which time he sat as a judge on the U.S. show.
