Chris McCarthy, the MTV Networks executive who supervises MTV2 and mtvU, is getting more responsibility. He will now oversee all creative and business functions for sister cable network Logo TV.

He is already an executive vice president of MTV and general manager of MTV and mtvU. A spokesperson confirmed that McCarthy is not filling a role vacated by another employee.

“His insight, creativity and business acumen have made an indelible impact, and I’m thrilled to partner with him to drive the next chapter in Logo TV’s evolution,” said Stephen Friedman, MTV’s president, in a prepared statement.

McCarthy has worked alongside Friedman as interim General Manager since Logo TV became aligned with MTV in late 2013.

McCarthy holds an MBA from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelors of Science with Honors in Commerce and Engineering from Drexel University.
