CBS Shows United Front at Summer TCA Party

CBS partnered with sister channels the CW and Showtime for a blowout party Thursday at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood.

Stars of new shows like Grant Gustin of CW’s “The Flash” and Mariana Klaveno of CBS’ “Stalker” hobnobbed with press, while a mini reunion of “The Wire” actors Wendell Pierce, who joins Showtime’s “Ray Donovan” this year, and Dominic West of new Showtime drama “The Affair,” excited those within Instagram distance. Elsewhere, CBS Entertainment chairman Nina Tassler insisted her chill, old school demeanor would not allow for such things as sending an underling to get her food so she wouldn’t wait in line, CW prexy Mark Pedowitz debated which he enjoys more: Upfronts or TCA.

Meanwhile, returning champs bonded with each other over snacks provided by Coolhaus, Umami Burger and Olive Wood food trucks. A kids table formed among the younger stars of Showtime’s “Shameless” and “Ray Donovan” while “House of Lies” creator Matthew Carnahan reconnected with college chum Allison Janney, who is doing double duty on CBS’ “Mom” and Showtime’s “Masters of Sex.”

Janney added that she’s also excited to see Janet McTeer in CBS midseason drama “Battle Creek” and that she was shocked, but pleased that so many TCA panels have invoked her iconic NBC drama “The West Wing.”

CBS’ fall lineup starts September 11 with Thursday night football. The CW is betting heavy on “The Flash” for its fall schedule.

  1. Will watch NFL Football on CBS, but that's about it says:

Do these people bore each other to death? They certainly spend a lot of time liking themselves. How vacant they are! The entire group wreaks of inflated egos and elevated senses of self worth, in addition to a marginal propensity to attract low ratings and viewership. To quote the vernacular, “CBS Sucks.”
