Yellowtail: Newest Sushi Stop On the Sunset Strip

Yellowtail Sushi Sunset strip

The longtime Mirabelle space on the Sunset Strip is unrecognizable as a sushi spot in a rustically sleek new incarnation. It’s the second outpost of Yellowtail, a Las Vegas-born restaurant from chef Akira Back, who brings modern Korean touches to beautifully composed Asian fusion dishes.

For maximum romance potential, book a table on the balcony that looks out over city lights. Fitness-conscious diners (Hilary Swank and Jessica Chastain have already stopped in) will appreciate light choices like the protein roll wrapped in soy paper, and imaginative sashimi and carpaccio presentations.

Eat: Bigeye tuna pizza, popping spicy crab roll (with Pop Rocks!), Shikoku octopus with jalapeno vinaigrette

Drink: Ginger Smash with ginger whiskey, elderflower; Banzai Bunny sparkling blueberry sake, AB Pimm’s Royale with sparkling sake, ginger beer

Go: 8768 W. Sunset Blvd. 90069
