Katy Perry has teamed with Capitol Records to launch her new label Metamorphosis Music.

The 29-year-old pop star has also announced that she has signed L.A-based Jordanian singer-songwriter Ferras as her first artist after exec producing his self-titled EP, released digitally by Metamorphosis on Tuesday.

“I am so ECSTATIC to finally announce my NEW label Metamorphosis Music & my first signing, the incredibly talented & soulful FERRAS!” Perry tweeted.

Perry duets with Ferras on the album’s track “Legends Never Die” and has invited him to join her on her upcoming North American tour.

“Ferras is a man with a message and a unique, lyrical way of communicating his perspective on life that makes you feel connected to every note when you listen,” Perry said in a statement. “‘Speak in Tongues’ is a song with raw emotional power that I wish I wrote. I believe he is going to be an important artist to watch unfold. I am so ecstatic the world gets to hear his music now both online and on tour with me.”

Ferras signed with Capitol in 2007 and met Perry, who was also new to the label at the time.

“Her instincts are really on point,” Ferras said of his new partner. “She is very blunt and doesn’t sugarcoat things, which I appreciate. Also, she gave me the freedom to do what I wanted musically and was a natural partner.”

Perry’s North American tour kicks off June 22 in Raleigh, N.C.
