The Tony Awards

Actor’s Fund president Joe Benincasa, Broadway photographer Joan Marcus and general manager Charlotte Wilcox will receive this year’s Tony Honors.

The Tonys hands out its special honors every year to legiters or organizations whose work is not normally eligible in any of the Tonys’ competitive awards races.

Benincasa, who joined Actor’s Fund in 1989, scores the recognition for his work in growing and overseeing the Fund’s wide array of social services, health care, training and senior housing programs, while Marcus takes home the award for a career that began in D.C. before it brought her to New York, where she has become Broadway’s go-to photographer.

Wilcox, meanwhile, receives the laurel for a 40-year career as a general manager and as founder of the Charlotte Wilcox Company, with a long CV that currently includes “Beautiful.”

Awards are doled out prior to the big Tony ceremony at the Tony Honors Cocktail Party, a private reception held this year June 2 at the newly renovated Diamond Horseshoe in midtown Manhattan. Tonys are set for June 8 at Radio City Music Hall.
