CBS has announced the performers for the 2014 Tony Awards ceremony, airing June 8. The telecast will feature performances from nominees Neil Patrick Harris (with the cast of “Hedwig and the Angry Inch”); Idina Menzel, who will perform a song from the new musical “If/Then”; and Sutton Foster, who will appear with the cast of “Violet.”
“The Good Wife” star Alan Cumming will also reprise his Tony Award-winning role in a rendition from the revival of “Cabaret.”
The show will feature numbers by the casts of this year’s Best Musical and Best Musical Revival nominees, along with other new musicals: “Aladdin,” “Les Misérables,” “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical,” “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder,” “Bullets Over Broadway” and “Rocky. Additionally, the current cast of “Wicked” will perform to celebrate the show’s 10th anniversary.
Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight and Fantasia will team up for a performance with the cast of “After Midnight,” while Sting will offer a song from his upcoming musical, “The Last Ship.”
Tony winner Hugh Jackman will host for the fourth time, with presenters including Bradley Cooper, Clint Eastwood and Will Ferrell.
