T.R. Knight will star in the world premiere of “Pocatello,” the new play by Samuel D. Hunter getting its world premiere at Off Broadway’s Playwrights Horizons.

“Grey’s Anatomy” alum Knight was an Off Broadway regular before he went on to TV work. More recently, he starred in the short-lived 2010 Broadway staging of David Mamet’s “A Life in the Theatre” and appeared in the 2013 revival of “Romeo and Juliet” at Off Broadway’s Classic Stage Company.

In “Pocatello,” he’ll appear with a cast that also includes Brenda Wehle, Danny Wolohan, Jonathan Hogan and Brian Hutchison, among others. The comedy centers on the manager (Knight) of an Italian chain restaurant in Idaho.

Davis McCallum — director Hunter’s 2012 Off Broadway buzzmagnet “The Whale” at Playwrights — helms the production, which begins previews Nov. 21 prior to a Dec. 15 opening.
