Peter Dinklage (“Game of Thrones”) and Taylor Schilling (“Orange is the New Black”), both up for Emmy Awards next week, have signed on to a revival of Ivan Turgenev’s “A Month in the Country” at Off Broadway’s Classic Stage Company.
Erica Schmidt — the legit vet who is Dinklage’s wife — helms the show, which will starts performances in January.
Schilling will play Natalya, the wife of a wealthy landowner, in the 19th century comedy of manners, while Dinklage will portray her admirer Rakitin.
Schilling makes her New York stage debut in the show. Dinklage’s Off Broadway credits include his turn as the title character in “Richard III” in a 2004 production at the Public Theater.
“A Month in the Country” runs Jan. 9-Feb. 15 at CSC, with an opening date still to be set.
The title joins a CSC slate that already includes “Hamlet” with Peter Sarsgaard, “Doctor Faustus” with Chris Noth and Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Allegro” helmed by John Doyle.
