Principal photography has begun on zombie action thriller “Generation Z,” the film’s production companies announced Thursday.
Directed by Steve Barker and written by Paul Gerstenberger, the film is set after an apocalyptic zombie outbreak at a time when humanity finally has the upper hand. Melanie (Jessica De Gouw), Lewis (Martin McCann) and Archer (Dougray Scott) meet at a safari-like resort to kill the undead for sport in a controlled environment, before zombie rights activists throw a wrench in the system and threaten all of mankind.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Steve Barker again for ‘Generation Z’ and thanks to Paul Gerstenberger’s smart, elevated script we couldn’t have asked for a better cast to bring this highly original and disturbing story world to life,” said Charlotte Walls of Matador Pictures.
The film is being shot on location in Wales and Mallorca, Spain. “Generation Z” is produced by Matador Pictures, the Captain Starlight Company and UMedia.
