‘X-Men’ Set Near Future China Release Date

Fox franchise film stars China's Fan Bingbing

ROME – “X-Men: Days of Future Past” will be distributed in China from May 23, putting it substantially in line with Fox’s global rollout of the franchise pic, which starts from May 20.

In line with recent practice for Hollywood films courting the world’s number two theatrical market, cast members are expected to visit Beijing. China’s Fan Bingbing has a substantial supporting role.

Sony’s “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” is the only other substantial Hollywood movie currently set to open in May in China, which is a month that has in previous years been subject to releasing restrictions. “Spider-Man” opens in China on May 4.
