Following the success of “22 Jump Street” and “The Lego Movie,” Phil Lord and Christopher Miller have upped longtime assistant Will Allegra into the director of development position at their Lord Miller production banner.
Allegra, who began working with Lord and Miller in 2011, was an associate producer on “The Lego Movie” and was a co-producer on “22 Jump Street,” where he was instrumental in developing and assembling the memorable end credits sequence.
He is also an exec producer on “The Reunion.”
“Nobody works harder or with more enthusiasm than Will. He’s bright, hungry, has great taste, he cares deeply about the projects he works on, and there is no human being on this earth with a higher capacity for getting psyched. This promotion is simply a natural outgrowth of the great work he has done with us over the past 3 plus years. We can only hope he will stick around long enough to carry us when we are old and out of touch” said Miller and Lord.
Lord and Miller have been on quite the roll in 2014 with “The Lego Movie” grossing $468 million at the worldwide box-office and “22 Jump Street” grossing nearly $300 million at the worldwide box office.
