Life is full of swear jars and rebellious children for Zach Braff’s character in the full trailer for the multi-hyphenate’s Kickstarter-funded pic “Wish I Was Here.”

The new trailer for Braff’s “Garden State” follow-up, which premiered at Sundance earlier this year, follows his character Aidan as he shares both tense and tender moments with his kids and learns that his father’s (Mandy Patinkin) cancer has returned.

The clip also features Kate Hudson, who plays Aidan’s wife, and Josh Gad as his brother before closing with a voiceover in which Aidan ponders, “When we were kids, my brother and I used to pretend that we were heroes. The ones who could save the day. But maybe we’re just the regular people. The ones who get saved.”

“Wish I Was Here” bows July 18.
