Warner Bros. has promoted Thomas Molter to exec VP of international distribution and exhibition strategy.
The studio said he will serve as the key exec on all international exhibition issues, including setting the digital delivery and deployment strategy and spearheading strategic partnerships for new revenue opportunities.
Molter will also continue to coordinate with domestic distribution on these initiatives and work closely with technical operations, post production and filmmakers on new technology developments. He is based at worldwide headquarters in Burbank and reports to international distribution president Veronika Kwan Vandenberg.
Molter joined Warner Bros. in 2004 as VP of international distribution and was promoted to senior VP in 2005.
The studio announced on May 25 that it had topped $1 billion in international grosses for the year for the 14th consecutive year. Top performers this year have included “Godzilla,” “The Lego Movie” and “300: Rise of an Empire.”
