Summit Entertainment is revving up its Vin Diesel fantasy-actioner “The Last Witch Hunter” by tapping “Dallas Buyers Club” writer Melisa Wallack to polish the script.

Summit also announced that Lakeshore Entertainment has joined as a partner on the project and will co-finance and co-produce the film, with the company’s Tom Rosenberg, Gary Lucchesi and Eric Reid exec producing.

Diesel, who’s been attached since last year, stars as an immortal witch hunter partnering with a witch to stop the covens of New York City from unleashing a plague on humanity. Breck Eisner is directing.

Mark Canton is producing via his Mark Canton Productions banner along with Bernie Goldmann and Diesel via his One Race Entertainment banner. Adam Goldworm is an exec producer on the project, as is Samantha Vincent at One Race Productions

Erik Feig, Geoff Shaevitz and Matthew Janzen will oversee the project for the studio.

Wallack was nominated for a screenwriting Oscar for “Dallas Buyers Club.” She is represented by Resolution.
