Universal Moves Up Scarlett Johansson’s ‘Lucy’ to July 25

Lucy Summer Movies with Social-Media Buzz

Universal has moved up the action pic “Lucy” starring Scarlett Johansson two weeks earlier to July 25.

Luc Besson penned and directed the pic.

The film was originally slated for Aug. 8 , just a week after Marvel opens “Guardians of the Galaxy,” which has started to build positive buzz in recent weeks.

‘Guardians’ bows on Aug. 1 and Universal clearly would like to get out in front of that film.

Morgan Freeman also stars with Virginie Besson-Silla, with EuropaCorp producing.

if this movie doesnt do well at the boxoffice, marvel can forget about a black widow stand-alone movie. she practically plays a superhero in Lucy, she needs to pull it off and carry the movie all by herself.

She has never pulled off a movie to block buster status where she was lead character..When she did have popular movies,it was always because she was with other big named stars..When I see how Jennifer Lawrence won all those major acting awards so far in her young career,SJ has some steps catch up and if she doesn’t pull this off,I don’t see much call for her in other Sci-Fi movies.

Now this is my kind of movie!

    Good move.

Hercules? Tired franchise, and Dwayne Johnson hasn’t proven himself as a draw in the leading man position.

Step Up: All In? I think even the more loyal fans of the series are worn out by “sequel fatigue.”

Sex Tape is probably the most meaningful challenger this weekend.
