New Line has unveiled the destruction-laden first trailer for “Into the Storm,” in which a small Midwest town is ravaged by cyclones.

“There is no calm before the storm,” the trailer promises.

“Into the Storm”(formerly titled “Category Six”)  is directed by Steven Quale — a longtime associate of James Cameron. Todd Garner produced  and Village Roadshow Pictures co-produced and co-financed.

Story, presented through videocameras and cellphones, follows numerous inhabitants of a small town in Oklahoma and a storm chaser and his crew when a tornado super cell touches down on their community. Cast includes Matt Walsh, Arlen Escarpeta, Jeremy Sumpter, Alycia Debnam-Carey and Max Deacon.

The film opens Aug. 8. The release comes 18 years after Warner Bros. scored a major hit with “Twister.”
