‘True Detective”s Michelle Monaghan Joins Adam Sandler’s ‘Pixels’

Michelle Monaghan is set to join Adam Sandler in the Sony comedy “Pixels.”

She joins an ensemble that also includes Peter Dinklage, Kevin James and Josh Gad with Sandler’s Happy Madison shingle producing. Chris Columbus is directing the pic.

Story is an adaptation of Patrick Jean’s short film, which depicted popular ’80s videogame characters attacking New York City. The movie follows a group of videogame experts who are recruited by the government to help deal with the threat.

Monaghan can be seen next in the Nicholas Sparks’ “The Best of Me” with James Marsden. She is repped by ICM Partners and Circle of Confusion.
