The 2015 Tribeca Film Festival has locked in April 15-26 for its 2015 edition, and has set a rolling series of deadlines for submissions.
In preparation for the upcoming fest, staffer Genna Terranova has been upped to festival director and colleague Cara Cusumano has risen to senior programmer.
The submissions window for features, shorts and transmedia projects opens Sept. 15, with Nov. 26 the official entry deadline for projects of all three types. Oct. 17 marks the early deadline for features and shorts, while feature length, world-premiere films may be submitted as late as Dec. 24.
The 2015 festival marks TFF’s 14th edition. Since launching in 2002, the fest has expanded to encompass not only film programming but also community events and transmedia initiatives. Industry attendance has risen in recent years, and while the fest has never turned into a high-profile industry marketplace along the lines of Sundance, last year’s festival has yielded more than 20 acquisitions so far.
To kick off the 2015 submissions period, Tribeca has tapped Ron Howard to share some filmmaking tips in a video, below.
