Tom Wilkinson has joined Benjamin Walker and Teresa Palmer in Lionsgate’s adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel “The Choice.”

Ross Katz is directing the pic with Bryan Sipe penning the script. Sparks and Theresa Park are partnering with Peter Safran to produce and finance the film.

The plot follows a guy and a girl who meet first as neighbors in a small coastal town and end up pursuing a relationship that neither could have foreseen.

Wilkinson, who is repped by Lou Coulson Associates and Larry Taube of Gotham/Principal, can be seen next in Paramount’s “Selma” as President Lyndon B. Johnson.
