Taraji P. Henson has rounded out the cast of Universal’s “Term Life” starring Vince Vaughn and Hailee Steinfeld.

Pic also stars Shea Whigham, Jonathan Banks, Bill Paxton and William Levy.

Peter Billingsley will direct from a screenplay by A.J. Lieberman, who wrote the original graphic novel that he created with Nick Thornborrow.

Story follows a man who plans and sells heists to the highest bidder, but when his latest job goes horribly wrong, he finds himself hunted by everyone he knows — mob bosses, contract killers and dirty cops. With no way out, Nick does the only thing he can think of to help his estranged daughter Cate, taking out a life insurance policy on himself with her as the beneficiary.

It’s a great plan until he finds out the policy doesn’t take effect for 21 days. Now Nick is forced to take Cate on the run and keep them both alive while trying to be a father for the very first time.

Vince Vaughn, Micah Mason and Victoria Vaughn are producing for Wild West Picture Show Productions. Kevin Frakes will also produce alongside executive producer Raj Brinder Singh.

The movie is being fully financed by Frakes’ PalmStar Media Capital and its partner Merced Media. Universal Pictures will distribute the film.

Henson will next be seen opposite Idris Elba in Sony’s “No Good Deed” and stars in “Think Like a Man Too,” both set for release later this year. Other credits include “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” and CBS’ “Person of Interest.”

Henson is represented by Vincent Cirrincione & Associates and attorney Neil E Meyer of Stone, Meyer, Genow, Smelkinson & Binder.

  1. City Manager says:

Great news for Academy Award Nominee, Henson and this project or any project she’s involved in. I too was incredibly disappointed with CBS and Person of Interest. From what I’ve read, they seem to be paying for that decision. She is a wonderful actress and isn’t exactly hard on the eyes either, there’s a very unique quality to her beauty. Taraji also comes across as genuinely sweet. That’s makes her a great addition to Hollywood.

  2. Taraji P. Henson Fan in Texas says:

Good for Taraji. Hoping many good opportunities come her way. It is, indeed, unfortunate the Person of Interest writers and producers, and CBS marginalized her role and dismissed her in favor of another actress. Fans and former viewers remain bitter about that entire matter.
