Sundance Winner ‘Green Prince’ Gets U.S. Distribution

The Green Prince Sundance

Music Box Films has bought U.S. rights to the Israeli documentary “The Green Prince,” which won the Sundance Audience Award in the world cinema documentary section.

Music Box will open the film theatrically later this year and qualify the film for Academy Award consideration. The Music Box deal with Submarine excludes TV rights.

The film premiered on the opening night of Sundance. It follows Mosab Hassan Yousef, the son of a top Hamas leader, who served as an informant to the Israeli secret service for more than a decade with the code name “The Green Prince.”

The doc was produced by Simon Chinn of Red Box Films and John Battsek of Passion Pictures and directed and produced by Nadav Schirman of A-List Films.

Global Screen is handling foreign sales and closed deals for the UK, Australia and New Zealand during Sundance.
