James D. Cooper's film will also play Sundance London in March.
“Lambert & Stamp,” James D. Cooper’s documentary about the improbable duo behind one of the greatest acts in rock ‘n’ roll history, has been added to the Documentary Premieres lineup of the 30th annual Sundance Film Festival.
Rounding out a lineup of 120 features set to unspool Jan. 16-26 in Park City, Utah, the film recounts how aspiring filmmakers Chris Stamp and Kit Lambert, seeking a subject for their underground movie, wound up discovering, mentoring and co-managing the Who.
After making its world premiere at Sundance, “Lambert & Stamp” will receive its U.K. premiere at the third annual Sundance London film and music festival, which runs April 25-27. The rest of the London lineup will be announced in March.
