PARIS– European powerhouse Studiocanal, the outfit behind Liam Neeson starrer “Non-Stop” and Cedric Klapisch’s “Chinese Puzzle,” has tapped Geraldine Gendre as head of production and distribution in France and appointed Romain Bessi as chief operating officer.
Bessi was previously managing director of the shingle’s strategy, finances and technical exploitation since 2007. He will now oversee the activities of the outfit in the U.K. and Australia/New Zealand. He will also spearhead the integration of the TV production and acquisition business of Germany’s Tandem and the U.K.’s RED, both of which have been acquired by Studiocanal.
Gendre, meanwhile, joined Studiocanal in 2012 as head of production France. She began her career at M6 Video, before becoming artistic director and later co-director of M6’s film division.
