Steve Carell Producing Road-Trip Comedy ‘International Incident’ to Star Ken Jeong

Lionsgate is in talks with Steve Carell to produce road-trip comedy “International Incident” with Ken Jeong in negotiations to star.

Carell will produce through his Carousel Prods.

Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment bought the pitch for the project from “The Maya Rudolph Show” head writer David Javerbaum, who will write the screenplay about five United Nations delegates on a journey to find one of their lost loves.

Carell will be seen later this year in “Foxcatcher,” which premiered at Cannes. Carousel is developing several film projects including “Mail-Order Groom” with Tina Fey.

Javerbaum worked with Carell on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.”
