Stellan Skarsgard Boards ‘Long Ships’

Stellan Skarsgard has been attached to Zentropa and Nordisk’s Viking project “The Long Ships.”

Written by Tobias Lindholm and directed by Hans Petter Moland, the film is based on Swedish author Frans Gunnar Bengtsson’s novel “Rode Orm” about 10th century adventurer Red Serpent whose journey alters history. 

“The Long Ships” is produced by Peter Aalbaek Jensen and  Marie Gade for Zentropa and executive produced by Lone Korslund from Nordisk Film  with support from TV2 Denmark, Film i Vast and Copenhagen Film Fund.

The film will go into production in 2016 with an eye to a 2017 release.
