Marc Webb, director of Sony’s “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” was announced as the fourth and final keynote speaker for the South by Southwest Film Conference and Festival. Webb joins producer Jason Blum, “Girls” creator Lena Dunham and YouTube director Casey Neistat who are also speaking at the festival.
Tilda Swinton, Robert Duvall, Jason Bateman, Mike Myers and artist Ralph Steadman have also been added to the Featured Sessions, one-on-one hour-long panel conversations. Director and actor Jon Favreau, whose film “Chef” will debut at SXSW, will moderate the panel session with Myers.
“We’re looking for creative combustion,” Janet Pierson, who is responsible for the vision, programming, and execution of SXSW, told Variety, adding “we want an intimacy and an interchange while all the big and noisy is also going on.”
The last slate of films, including “For Those About to Rock: The story of Rodrigo y Gabriela,” which follows Mexican guitarists Rodrigo y Gabriela, as well as “Last Hijack” a true story about a pirate’s survival in Somalia that combines animation with documentary storytelling.
