Film producer Pete Czernin, chat-show host Jonathan Ross join board
Wong is prexy of international production for Sony Pictures Television, and prexy of international for Sony Pictures Entertainment. Based in London, she is responsible for the studio’s international television production business. Previously, she served as prexy and CEO of Lifetime Networks.
Czernin worked in Los Angeles for nearly 10 years for a number of production companies, including Di Novi Pictures, where he was prexy.
In 2005, he partnered with Graham Broadbent to set up Blueprint Pictures, a London-based film production company, which has produced seven pics, including John Madden’s “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” and Colin Farrell-starrer “In Bruges.”
Blueprint is prepping for the release of Lone Scherfig’s “Posh” and is in production with “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 2.”
Ross is a chat-show host, former presenter of the BBC’s flagship film show, and former host of the BAFTA film awards. His relationship with the BBC was damaged after he and comedian Russell Brand left offensive messages on the voice-mail of former “Fawlty Towers” actor Andrew Sachs on air during Ross’ BBC radio show. In 2011, Ross joined ITV to present “The Jonathan Ross Show.”
The BFI board is chaired by former BBC chief Greg Dyke and co-chaired by entertainment lawyer Libby Savill. The other governors include Warner U.K. topper Josh Berger, film director Tom Hooper, producer Matthew Justice and TV drama director Peter Kosminsky.
