Samuel L. Jackson is in talks to replace Jamie Foxx in Screen Gems action-comedy “The Black Phantom.”
Hart is still attached with Tim Story directing.
Will Packer is producing the film along with Will Gluck.
The story follows a double-crossed mob hitman who enlists the help of the Black Phantom, the same hitman who had been sent to kill him.
Dave Lease and Megan Hinds penned the original spec. Screen Gems president Clint Culpepper will oversee the project for the studio.
Jackson is repped by ICM Partners and can be seen next in Fox’s “Kingsman: The Secret Service.”
Deadline Hollywood first reported the news.
