Ending a bidding war that saw many of the major studios in play, Sony has landed the Saint Nick-Christmas origins spec script “Winter’s Knight,” with “Kon-Tiki” helmers Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg attached to direct.

Lawrence Grey and Marc Platt (pictured) are on board to produce the spec written by Jake Thornton and Ben Lustig.

Sources say Sony paid $1 million for the spec, an origin tale of Saint Nicholas and how Christmas came to be.

Ronning and Sandberg are repped by UTA while Lustig and Thornton are repped by WME.
